Most daily photo bloggers have a whole plan in place for when they take a vacation - weeks of photos queued up and ready to show.
I have no such plan. This vacation, though very much anticipated, did not inspire the preparation that it should have. Alas, a week or so of no photos.
However, I will be back on the 21st with renewed vigor.

Rusted
There's something about the old rusted remains of anything mechanical that really makes me happy. This shot is a closeup of some gears at the Reef Bay Sugar Mill on St John from a few months back.

Seashell Masonry
One of my favorite things about the stonework you find all throughout the islands (this shot in particular was from this past weekend in Tortola), is how the masons incorporate seashells into the facade. I have to imagine that originally this was done for lack of appropriate rocks (and abundance of seashells), but I believe today it is a much more aesthetic touch. Either way, I like it!

Pool with a View
This is a shot from the villa I stayed in over the weekend in Tortola. Some friends and I went over to Tortola for the BVI Music Fest and had a great time. Couldn't have asked for a better place to lay our heads. The shot above shows Smuggler's Cove on the left and Long Bay on the right.

Theme Day: Funny Signs
It may seem like a normal sign, but the fact that it is posted next to a walkway instead of an actual road bumps up the funny quotient in my opinion. The islands are definitely filled with loads of funny signs (the electronic road sign that accidentally warned of "icy conditions ahead" springs to mind), but I wasn't able to capture any of those in time.
