My Sails

I recently became the proud owner of a Kirby 25 sailboat.  It's a pretty fast little racing sailboat, but I haven't raced in her yet - still working up to that part.

Rolex

A few spinnakers flying at this weekend's Rolex Regatta.  I managed to catch a few shots of the races as they sailed from St Thomas towards St John and back.

Cutting Through The Waves

Moving along at a pretty nice pace - slicing through the water.  This is the starboard hull on a catamaran sailing last weekend.

Running from the Storm

Its hard to see from this far away, but I was trying to capture the little sailboat on the horizon, desperately trying to outrun the storm behind it.  (Clearly that just means I should buy a longer lens, right?)

This gorgeous sailboat was running downwind with just their (massive) jib unfurled.  All of the people on board looked like they were having a great time.

Rain Over Buck Island

It was a beautiful Saturday - unless you were unfortunate enough to get trapped in this small rain storm off the south side of St Thomas.

I haven't made it to the fish market when it's open (I think Saturdays and maybe Sundays).  Maybe I'll find an open weekend and come down for some fresh catch.

I haven't seen these boats out on the water (probably because I'm not up at 5 am when they're working) - but they line the waterfront in Frenchtown for the rest of the day.  Another one later today.

Frenchtown Deli

Delicious sandwiches prepared fresh at the Frenchtown Deli.  I don't get into town for lunch too often, but when I do this place is at the top of my list.

Egret in Frenchtown

This egret was hunting the waters edge in Frenchtown - looking for some scraps left over by the fishing boats.  It even tried getting into one of the boats and poking around there, but with no luck.

Serenade

A nice musical serenade on board the sailing catamaran BadFish after a Wednesday evening sail around Buck Island.
